PRESS RELEASE

ON THE ROAD TO INTERNATIONAL MONARCH TRINIDAD

SLU RECORDS is calling for assistance from the public to raise money for their artistes’ participation in the International Monarch Competitions in Trinidad. Teddyson John has made in to the semi-finals of the International Groovy Monarch with “Whine Up on Me” and based on the popularity of the song he should be an easy fit in the finals. Ricky T. has already made it to the finals for the second time in a row. However, our camp believes this year his competing song “Wheel and Come Again” is more competitive and will score higher based on the criteria from the judges.

We are asking the general public to contribute monetarily towards this project which is estimated to cost SLU Records $60, 000.00ecd. Last year CDF sponsored an estimated $15, 000ecd. It hasn’t been confirmed what their contribution will be this year. St. Lucian artistes whom make it this far in the competition attract allot of attention from the international public. The island will benefit tremendously from such exposure. The entertainers from St. Lucia will all get recognition and our very own Carnival is highlighted tremendously throughout the world. Last year’s success of carnival was heavily contributed by Ricky T.’s success internationally. If Ricky T. and Teddyson John are represented admirably on an international stage the entire island stands to benefit.

Sponsorship letters will be out this week to individuals and private companies. We are hoping to raise at least $30, 000.00ecd through this endeavour. We look forward to making this promotional journey for St. Lucia, our artistes and our company.
